Southampton and Bournemouth airport schedules unaffected amid Heathrow Airport closure

Both Southampton and Bournemouth airport are currently showing that its schedule is running on time despite the huge disruption that has been caused by the closure of Heathrow. The London airport will be closed for the remainder of the day due to a power outage caused by a fire at a nearby substation.

Over 1,000 flights have been disrupted with many arrivals now being diverted to airports across the country, which could have a knock on effect to schedules. London Gatwick have confirmed they are “supporting where required” and airports across the country are expected to liaise with air traffic control to help with any diversion.

The arrival and outbound flights at both Southampton and Bournemouth are showing as running on time but this could be subject to change if diverted flights are required to land there throughout the day.
