BSL signer translates Jessie J's version of Prince's Purple Rain for the hard of hearing at Victorious festival
BSL signers are back at Victorious festival
They’ve become a welcome fixture at Victorious in recent years - and again the team of BSL signers are back at the festival to make music more accessible for the Deaf community.
Here a signer is translating Jessie J’s take on the Prince track Purple Rain this afternoon.
The signers are from Performance Interpreting, and stand on viewing platforms around the festival site, such as the one here on the Common Stage.
A statement from the festival organisers recently said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Performance Interpreting back to Victorious this year, helping make the festival more accessible for our D/deaf community. Their team of registered, qualified BSL interpreters will be with us throughout the weekend, interpreting performances from our accessible viewing platforms.”
Victorious also has portable hearing loops on the site. Anyone who needs one can ask the entrance gate managers, who can point people towards the nearest loop.
