Great South Run 2024: Road closure and parking restriction update following event cancellation

The majority of parking restrictions and street closures that were set to be in place on Sunday, October 20 have been lifted following the cancellation of The Great South Run. There will remain some closures though with the event site on Clarence Esplanade remaining shut off.
A Portsmouth City Council spokesperson has confirmed signage is in the process of being removed. They said: “The team is currently working to remove signage and reopen all areas concerned.”

Hide AdThe also confirmed that the additional Park and Ride service which had been put on for the event will also no longer be running. The usual Sunday service will still be in operation.
Organisers of The Great South Run have advised that while the road closures and parking restrictions will be lifted, the event site on Clarence Esplanade will remain closed tomorrow.
