From meeting a marmalade-loving bear at the city’s most famous landmark to getting down at a silent disco, there are plenty of fun ways to pass the time and keep the little ones busy.
Here are 13 fantastic things to do this February half term – from Monday, February 12 to Friday, February 16.

9. Visit the Historic Dockyard
The Historic Dockyard features a multitude of events for children and families during the February half term. On Tuesday 13, attendees can try their hand at becoming a polar researcher as members of the British Antarctic Survey share their experiences camping and studying wildlife in the North and South Poles. The HMS Challenger’s puppet dog will be at the new Worlds Beneath the Waves exhibit on Wednesday 14, where children can create their own sea creatures and see the famous autosub Boaty McBoatface using AI technology, while the Minecraft Block Hunt takes over the HMS Victory on Saturday 17. The activities are included with ticket purchases for the National Museum of the Royal Navy - £34 for adults and £24 for children. Photo: BasPhoto

10. Half-Term Silent Disco PJ Party at Groundlings Theatre
Over two days across the February half term, the Groundlings Theatre in Portsea will run an hour and a half long silent disco for children complete with fun party games and a special photobooth bed – and what’s more, disco goers can turn up in pyjamas. Child-friendly refreshments will be made available through the Theatre Bar, where adults can sit back and relax while the kids run wild. The event runs from Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 between 10:30am and 4pm. Tickets cost £7 and can be bought here: https://www.ents24.com/portsmouth-events/groundlings-theatre/silent-disco-pyjama-party/6991620. Picture: Chris Moorhouse Photo: Chris Moorhouse

11. Southsea Model Village
Southsea Model Village will welcome visitors back for a new season on Saturday, February 10 ahead of the upcoming half term holiday. It comes after vandals broke in and attacked the model village - in Eastney Esplanade - in December last year, causing damage estimated to cost around £1,000. Photo: Keith Woodland

Runners can tackle two scenic races on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18.
