Fareham firefighters tackle engine car fire on A32

A VEHICLE fire on the A32 caused delays this evening (February 8) as firefighters looked to tackle the blaze.

One appliance was deployed from Fareham at 5.17pm this evening after reports of a car engine on fire on the southbound carriageway between the A27 Eastern Way and Old Gosport Road.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze. The fire ‘completely destroyed the engine bay’ of the car.

Fire crews were stood down at 5.37pm. There are no reported injuries.
