Portsmouth IT firm easyNetworks connects Covid vaccination centres across the county

The cabling division of easyNetworks has been working flat out to install network hardware to connect systems at key NHS sites in recent weeks.

The IT and telecoms business provides a specialist cabling service to customers such as Solent NHS Trust, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and care home operator Sentinel Health Care.

Recently it has connected Covid-19 vaccination centres at St James Hospital in Portsmouth, University Health Centre, Southampton and Basingstoke Fire Station, as well as installing networks at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Managing director Richard Gwilliam said: ‘I am delighted that our cabling teams have been able to respond to the demands of our NHS and care home customers during the pandemic.

‘Reliable computer networks are a core part of any medical site and installing them promptly but safely has been a major priority for our customers.

Originally called Easy Networks, it changed its name in 2019 when it was taken on by easyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and became part of his family of brands.

As well as supplying the medical sector throughout Hampshire, easyNetworks works in the education sector including St Edmund's Catholic School, Portsmouth, Fareham College and the University of Portsmouth, and also to food businesses such as Vitacress Salads in Andover, and to major infrastructure such as Portsmouth International Port and the D-Day Story visitor attraction on Southsea seafront.
