Solent Wheel opens to the public
THE long-awaited Solent Wheel has officially opened in Southsea.
The Solent Wheel is a 110ft high ferris wheel which has been purchased by the owners of Clarence Pier at a cost of £750,000.
The family ride, which has been built in Italy by attractions firm Technical Park, has 24 gondolas, each seating six passengers.
It has been dubbed the Solent Eye, as it draws comparisons to the London Eye in the capital.
