Man, 20, killed in crash on West Lane on Hayling Island

The 20-year-old was driving a black Mazda 2 north on West Lane just before 7.30am when it left the road and hit tree just south of Daw Lane.

No other cars were involved, say police.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘Despite best efforts of the emergency services the driver, a 20-year-old man from Hayling Island, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.’

Police are investigating and want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, saw the car before the accident, or who may have dashcam footage from this morning.
