A 62-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a domestic-related assault saw two people stabbed - one in the chest and one in the head.
David James Weir of Cedar Close, Bursledon, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday (January 12) having been charged with two counts of attempted murder and of assaulting a person causing them ABH-level injuries.
The charges followed an incident in the early hours of Sunday (January 11) morning at an address off Hamble Lane where a woman and a man in their 20s suffered stab wounds. The woman was stabbed in the chest and the arm while the man had stab wounds to his head and arm.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: “The charges follow reports of a disturbance and domestic-related assault at an address off Hamble Lane shortly before 3am on Sunday.
“A woman in her 20s from the New Forest was taken to hospital with stab wounds to her chest and arm, while a man in his 20s from Bursledon was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his head and arm. Their injuries are not currently considered life threatening or life changing. The woman remains in hospital at this time.”
