Police close Kings Road in Southsea
and live on Freeview channel 276
Officers at the scene in Kings Road, which is shut between St Paul’s Road and Norfolk Road, said they could not reveal why the road had been closed.
People in the area told The News they had heard that it was because of a hit-and-run incident.

Hide AdOne resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: ‘The police haven’t said anything to me yet.
‘I saw flashing lights from outside my window and came out to see what was going on.’
Police arrived at about 7.30pm today, with roughly half a dozen police vehicles on the scene.
The road is closed to cars in both directions, and pedestrians are being directed through Yorke Street.

Hide AdA biker who was passing through, and lives nearby, said: ‘It’s sad but it doesn’t surprise me that something like this has happened.
‘We get crime all the time around here – the block I live in has been broken into six times in the past month.
‘It looks like somebody could have been seriously hurt and if that’s the case then I just hope they recover.’
Another resident said: ‘I was looking out of my window and could see more and more police arriving.
