All members of the under-18 Academy were suspended during the probe – but those not involved in the disciplinary process are back training.

The messages referred to lynching and death threats after three black England players failed to score penalties in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium.

England stars Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka faced a torrent of racist abuse online after their shots against Italy.

Former Pompey stars Linvoy Primus and Vincent Pericard last week told The News anyone found to have been involved should be educated about racism.

‘All members of the U18 side were suspended while the investigation took place, but those who are not involved in the disciplinary process have now returned to training.

‘With that in mind and in regards to this sensitive matter, Portsmouth FC would continue to respectfully appeal for everyone’s consideration in their use of social media posts directed towards any of its employees and, indeed, any other external parties.

‘The club will not be commenting further until the disciplinary process is complete.’
