Portsmouth pensioner, 74, fined £80 for indecent images of children

A PENSIONER has been ordered to sign the sex offenders' register for five years.

Vivian Gregson, 74, of Langley Road, Buckland, admitted making five indecent images of a child between May 2006 and July last year.

Portsmouth magistrates imposed a two-year community order with 40 days' rehabilitation activities.

A five-year sexual harm prevention order restricts his internet use.

Gregson was fined £80 with an £85 victim surcharge to pay.

His photo equipment, a combined-screen computer, must be destroyed.

The offence of making indecent images can include downloading an image.

Breaching either order could see him go to jail.
