On October 9, a 29-year-old man from Dursley in Gloucestershire was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. This arrest comes following a car meet which took place on Saturday, September 21 and it was estimated that 500 people turned out for the meet which started at Winchester Park and Ride. The car meet then moved Southampton, Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Fareham and finally gathering at Southsea seafront shortly after midnight. Local police officers attended the car meet to try and disperse the meet up but they turned up to a ‘hostile’ environment where stones were thrown at them. Five people have already been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving dangerously.
Chief Superintendent Darren O'Callaghan said: "We have been clear we will pursue anyone believed to be engaging in dangerous driving at car meets, and remove their vehicle from the road.

The 29-year-old has been bailed while the investigation continues and a Land Rover Discovery has also been seized as part of the police enquiries.
