A second 16-year-old boy from Southampton, who was arrested on Monday, has been charged with wounding with intent.

It comes after a report that five boys aged 16 and 17 suffered serious injuries while at a supervised party in Park Road in Chandler’s Ford just after 10.30pm on October 31.

Hampshire Police said it is alleged an uninvited group gained entry to the party before seriously assaulting the teenagers.

One remains in hospital in a serious condition while the other four have been discharged.

The two boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

As part of the police probe, officers arrested six boys in total.

Two have been bailed with conditions and a further two 16-year-old boys from Southampton, arrested on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, have also been released on bail.
