Teenagers arrested in connection with Leigh Park moped theft are released on conditional bail

TWO teenagers are out on bail while police continue to investigate the theft of a moped in Leigh Park.

In the early hours on Wednesday, November 30, police found a moped abandoned outside the One Stop in Middle Park Way, Leigh Park. It was confirmed to have been stolen and police launched an investigation.

While on patrol, local officers spotted three youths riding another moped the wrong way along Petersfield Road – trying to escape when they were seen.

A 13-year-old boy from Havant was found with tools and a balaclava in his possession. He was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. A 14-year-old boy, also from Havant, was also arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the youngsters have been questioned and released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
