Forming part of the Lee-on-the-Solent VE75 At Home event, a quiz night will be held by Gosport lecturer Martin Heighway.

The quiz will also be raising money for Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium, a wartime memorial site that has been forced to close its doors following the coronavirus outbreak.

Themed around VE Day, questions will range from being about the Second World War, 1940s culture and VE Day itself.

Martin, who will be quizmaster for the night, said: ‘As a keen historian, I’ve been taking groups of Royal Navy personnel to Talbot House for many years.

‘My challenge was to produce an event that was both fun and safe – a pub quiz that could be done in one’s own living room.

‘Online technology allows us to do that.’
