Five people in Southsea celebrate winning £1,000 in lottery

The Winter Road neighbours netted the windfall when PO4 9BU was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Wednesday.

Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson said: ‘I’m over the moon for our winners in Southsea. A big congratulations to everyone. I hope they celebrate tonight and enjoy spending the cash.’

The cash award is the latest in a string of windfalls, as the area celebrates a huge winning spree.

In almost two weeks, since January 15, 32 people have each won £1,000 in the daily draws, with streets in Waterlooville, Gosport and Fareham all sharing in the daily prize draws.

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600m to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Postcode Culture Trust which has a mission to inspire learning, understanding and appreciation of science, music, arts and culture.
