Paramedics were called to the scene

Firefighters had to carry out a ‘full roof removal’ to free the man who was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (Scas) and taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.

A Volkswagen car carrying a pregnant woman, child and man was also involved.

The trio had got out of car by the time emergency services arrived but were advised to go to hospital for ‘precautionary checks’.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called at 3.30pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Forton Road in Gosport. Scas were also in attendance, with minor injuries being reported.’

A spokesman for Scas added: ‘There were three patients, one of whom was pregnant, and one of whom was taken to the hospital.’
