Ex-Lincoln and Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley announced as Portsmouth head coach
Danny Cowley has tonight been unveiled as Pompey head coach until the end of the season.
However, Cowley backed himself to take on the role for the final 12 matches of the League One campaign.
He has taken on the title of head coach, with brother Nicky assisting him.
Existing coaching staff Joe Gallen and Jake Wigley will be staying on at present.
Cowley takes over a side 10th in League One, three points off the final play-off spot currently occupied by Charlton.
The Blues have also lost five successive games in all competitions – and on Saturday entertain Ipswich (1pm).
The Tractor Boys are managed by ex-Pompey boss Paul Cook, returning to Fratton Park for the second time since his May 2017 exit.
