'JM has turned it around. Owe Dia an apology' - Portsmouth fans react after Fratton Park win against Millwall
Pompey fans have their say on Fratton Park win against Millwall
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ 2-1 win against Millwall at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho’s side came from behind against Alex Neil’s side to stretch their unbeaten Championship run to four games.
Back on home turf after their win against Norwich and a midweek trip to Wolves that ended in a draw, a Lyndon Dykes own goal on 16 minutes helped the hosts cancel out Camiel Neghli’s sixth-minute opener following an error by Nicolas Schmid.
As the game looked destined for a draw, substitute Thomas Waddingham netted the winner for Pompey just 11 minutes after his introduction.
There was a bit of fortunate about the goal, with Millwall defender Jake Cooper kicking the ball against the Aussie, who’s only Blues goal to date came against West Brom on his debut in January 2025.
Yet it was luck the striker deserved, after an injury-hit Fratton Park stay to date.
Here’s what Pompey fans have been saying on X as the Blues moved up to eighth in the table ahead of this afternoon’s Championship fixtures.
@jonny_henley: Credit where it’s due JM has turned it round after the derby.
@markj2k73: What a win that is, maybe best one of the season considering the weather made game poor also millwall always hard to beat.
Poor game but we kept going kept trying and so pleased for Waddingham. Quality was poor, who cares 10pts out 12 is unreal return with all injuries we have too.
@ShaunCHill: Subs made such an impact. Adams, Wadds and Shade all got us over the line in that last 20 mins.
@CupChange: People were calling for Mousinho to be sacked 2 weeks ago after after getting beaten by their big rivals. Three wins and a draw since and (temporarily) up to 8th place. Play Up Pompey.
@sweetstuff275: Scrappy, difficult conditions, but a gritty performance. Apart from the error from Schmidt, that was generally good performance. These are the kind of results we have been missing in previous season.
@LukeEllisPUP: An instantly forgettable game but a brilliant win. Take it all day long. Ebou and Shade game changers, and delighted for Waddingham.
@CanadaP14: I owe Dia an apology.
@JR95_Pompey: That could be a big result. Scrappy game in awful conditions but we take those all day long. Wadds deserves that luck so much. Play-offs here we come. Up the beautiful blues!
@Willfrattonpark: An incredible run of form we have suddenly gained. Gotta give it to them for pulling this together.
@SamMcCarthy1981: Get in there! 2-1 v Millwall in the rain! Perfect Saturday. Credit to everyone. All the players put in a shift! Our match winner was amazing. Adams is like a general!! Dia looking better every game.
@nevervotedtory1: O Ye of little faith...PUP!
@PompeyDurham: Honking game, the conditions won out, but we’ll take the 3 points.
