The Blues were forced to defend for long periods, yet were brilliantly helped by midfielders Marlon Pack and Iyad Mohamed as they produced a gutsy goalless draw at Turf Moor.
There was first-half controversy when Marlon Pack’s goal was ruled out, but it was another good performance on the road as John Mousinho’s men continue to improve.
And here are our Pompey player ratings.

9. Abu Kamara - 6
(Replaced by Thomas Waddingham on 80 mins) Another frustrating display. On the occasions when Pompey were able to break, he failed to take advantage. One second half left-footed shot which flew wide followed by a poor right-wing cross summed up his afternoon. | Jason Brown

10. Adrian Segecic - 5
(Replaced by Ebou Adams on 46 mins) Blues were forced to defend for much of the first-half, but Segecic struggled to help them out. Too many times he failed to make a tackle or secure the second ball, despite being close by. No surprise to see him come off at the break. | Jason Brown

11. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen - 5
(Replaced by Tyrese Shade on 50 mins) A couple of decent forays down the left in the first-half, but largely struggled to get involved. Up against Kyle Walker, Kavuma-McQueen failed to track him on a number of occasions, with one shot from the right-back saved by Schmid. | Jason Brown

12. Marko Milovanovic - 6
(Replaced by Josh Murphy on 72 mins) Gave no opportunities to score, with Pompey asked to defend for much of the game. However, other than one flicked header to Kamara in the first half, and a good lay off in the second half, the Serb didn’t trouble the Burnley back line. Still finding his feet. | Jason Brown
