Do you agree with how Blues writer Jordan Cross sees the performances from John Mousinho’s squad to date?

5. Josh Knight 4
Came in with high expectations after making his name at Peterborough, before moving to German side Hannover 96. Fee of around £1m a big one for Pompey’s standard and meant they couldn’t afford to miss with Knight, but stay has failed to meet expectations so far and been a disappointment. Form has been below that expected across 10 starts and four sub appearances, before season decimated by injury which was eventually identified as back stress fracture. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

6. Regan Poole 7
If there was an award for player of the first half of the season, Poole would have been a big favourite to take the honours. Born competitor’s displays were excellent across an unbroken run of 18 starts and value can be seen by no one starting more games than the 35 outings the Wales international has to his name. Had some more testing moments of late, but undoubtedly one his side’s standout performers. | Getty Images

7. Conor Shaughnessy 6
A second injury-riddled season for the key Pompey defender, with Shaughnessy’s hamstring issue requiring surgery before picking up a quad problem on his return. Of all Pompey’s unrelenting injury issues, the Irishman goes down as the biggest loss with Josh Murphy. Form pretty decent in the glimpses we’ve had of the League One title winner - and remains his side’s biggest set-piece threat. | Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages

8. Marlon Pack 7
Ageless performer, as the Buckland boy continues to produce as he turned 35 this week. Perhaps his volume of football is a statement about how Pompey have got theirs summer midfield recruitment wrong, but the Blues skipper continues to be a reliable performer. No one would have seen academy graduate starting eight games on the spin at this stage, but qualities in possession and game intelligence has balanced off well against Ebou Adams’ drive and energy. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
