Pompey were humbled by non-league Aldershot, not for the first time, as they slumped to a poor defeat.
John Mousinho’s side were undone by two goals inside two minutes from Hakeem Sandah and Marcus Dinanga midway through the first half as their National League hosts ran out 2-0 winners.

2. Ben Killip - 5
(Replaced by Nicolas Schmid on 46 mins) Captained in the first half but so sloppy in possession. Early scare when Gilbert closed down his clearance, but thankfully the ball bounced clear of goal. There was no such let-off on 32 minutes, though, when he was caught in possession in the build-up for the corner for the first goal. Produced an excellent stop to deny Oshilaja at point-blank range just before half-time. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
3. Ashton Sizer - 6
(Replaced by Jordan Williams on 46 mins) The second-year scholar was named at right-back and, despite some testing moments, stuck to his task admirably. Comfortable on the ball and clearly a competitive player . | Ian Lyall/ProSportsImages
4. Josh Knight - 5
(Replaced by Regan Poole on 46 mins) Having played right-back at Woking, Knight lined-up at centre-half and looked assured, demonstrating a wide range of passing. However, he undid such good work on 34 minutes with some shocking defending when he was caught in possession by Gilbert to begin the move which resulted in Aldershot’s second goal. | Simon Roe/ProSportsImages
