Rangers and Barnsley loanees get green light for Portsmouth's play-off campaign - but Norwich defender's availability still unconfirmed

Both players’ loan deals from respective parent clubs Barnsley and Rangers have been extended for the remainder of the season.

McCrorie moved to Fratton Park in July on a season-long loan from Ibrox.

The Scotland under-21 international has made 22 appearances in total, featuring primarily as a right-back despite arriving as a centre-midfielder.

Pompey boss Kenny Jackett revealed last week that Rangers had given him the thumbs up to extend his stay on the south coast – despite Steven Gerarrd’s men now returning for pre-season ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Meanwhile, McGeehan joined the Blues in January from Barnsley for the remainder of the campaign.

He's featured prominently in Jackett’s side, netting twice in 15 outings. Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber had admitted it was his plans to allow the midfielder to stay at PO4, despite Barnsley’s Championship campaign recommencing.

And with Steve Seddon also getting the clearance from Birmingham to be involved in the play-offs, Pompey now await official confirmation from Norwich as to whether Sean Raggett will also be allowed to take part.

Jackett has remained optimistic the centre-back will be able to feature, despite him being out of contract at Carrow Road at the end of this month.

Raggett has continued to train with Pompey and started yesterday’s 1-1 friendly draw at Brentford.

The ex-Lincoln man has made 36 outings for the Blues, scoring two goals.
