Mousinho has not hidden his desire to bring the goalkeeper back on a permanent basis this summer. He was a reliable figure in goal during his loan from Luton in the second half of the season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 21 games. The Blues’ position to bring the keeper back has been strengthened after the Hatters won promotion to the Premier League as well as sporting director Hughes’ relationship with Luton boss Rob Edwards. No surprises the Fratton faithful want to see him back and it could be one which does come true. Rumour rated: 8/10. Photo: Jason Brown
The winger has been strongly linked with the Blues in recent weeks, with Mousinho keen to bring his former Oxford team-mate to Fratton Park. Journalist Darren Whitcoop first reported the interest in early May. Pompey’s position over a potential move has been strengthened after he left Cardiff at the end of his contract following the season’s conclusion. The head coach has spoken about his admiration of the winger, which could come to fruition when the window opens next month. Rumour rated: 9/10. Photo: Alex Davidson
The News understood in early May that Mousinho was a fan of the striker, who impressed in front of goal for Cambridge last season. Smith, though, was released as part of wholesale changes by the U’s after they escaped relegation to League Two on the final day. However, the Blues have cooled their interest in the front man, with no guarantee of regular football at Fratton Park as Colby Bishop remains the head coach’s first-choice striker. In April, the Blues were reportedly linked with a £300,000 move for the Larne striker. Pompey were one of four teams originally in pursuit of the 17-goal front man, according to the Daily Mail. However, Mousinho was quick to put those rumours to bed, telling The News he was unaware of Bonis. He has been tipped to thrive in the EFL after a record-breaking season in Northern Ireland but it’s doubtful he will be arriving at Fratton Park. Rumour rated: 3/10. Photo: Pacemaker Desmond Loughery
