The game will be the first chance fans will have to see the team managed by Danny Cowley in the flesh, following his arrival in March when restrictions were in place.
It will also provide the first opportunity to get a glimpse of the five signings that have so far arrived through the door at Fratton Park this summer.
Because of the nature of pre-season friendlies, it’s unlikely Cowley will name his strongest starting XI for the game at Westleigh Park.
The head coach will no doubt want to look at certain combinations, have a look at players like Reeco Hackett-Fairchild who spent last season on loan at Southend, and even cast an eye over triallists who have been with the Blues since their return to pre-season training last week.
However, that hasn’t stopped up surmising what Pompey’s strongest Xi would look like if Cowley did go down the route of going strong against the Hawks – or if the season were to start this weekend.
Here’s the starting XI we came up with. Feel free to let us know if you agree or not!

5. Centree-back - Clark Robertson
Pompey had to see off interest from home and abroad to seal a deal for Robertson. He represents the Blues' first senior arrival of the summer and is set to play a key role in Pompey's bid to reach the Championship next season. Danny Cowley wants to keep him fit and has even drawn up a master plan to ensure that happens. Picture: Lewis Storey/Getty Images

6. Left-back - Lee Brown
Former Bromley youngster Liam Vincent has arrived at Fratton Park this summer - and he'll have eyes on Lee Brown's left-back berth. However, the youngster will have to bide his time, with Brown set to begin his fourth season at PO4 as first-choice left-back. Further competition could still be added - but just like the right-back position, it's not a priority this summer.

7. Right-wing - Marcus Harness
Pompey have been linked with Crewe winger Owen Dale, which suggests Danny Cowley wants to improve his side's attacking prowess. We all know Harness has bags of ability. The problem is, we just don't see it often enough. Pompey need him to hit the ground running this season - a top performance against the Hawks could get the ball rolling.

8. Central midfield - Shaun Williams
The experienced midfielder has arrived on a permanent deal from Millwalll and will be a key figure in Pompey's engine room this season. Saturday's game against the Hawks will give the Fratton faithful their first glimpse of the man tasked with filling the void left by the likes of Tom Naylor, Andy Cannon and Ben Close. It's a responsibility, however, that Williams doesn't appear daunted by. Picture: Chris Moorhouse
