A popular gaming festival event is returning to Portsmouth, offering enthusiasts the chance to enjoy classic video games and more.

Games Fest will return to Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, offering three sessions of pure gaming glee.

Bringing a library of over 100 of the most popular board games around and giving demonstrations of some the newest releases to hit the market will be returning partner, Dice Board Game Lounge.

Attendees can participate in competitions and tournaments that will be running across the weekend before perusing a fully stocked shop so you can buy and continue playing new-found favourites at home. Returning to the stage with a dream set up for every retro arcade enthusiast is Game Over. The arcade will bring classics such as Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Ninja Turtles, Mario Bros, Street Fighter and more to th event.

Games will also be projected onto a giant screen in the Guildhall. More partners and gaming options are still to be announced including historic games, indie developers and “the most modern of twists.”

Early Bird tickets - available before before June 30 – cost £10 plus fees for adult tickets, child tickets start at £5 plus fees and under fours go free. Sessions will run from 11am-4pm and 5-9pm on Saturday, September 14 and 11am-4pm on Sunday, September 15 with the Guildhall’s Square Kitchen café open to ticket holders for all their essential gaming snacks and treats. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here.
