With Halloween in the rear-view mirror, the jingle of Christmas bells are just around the corner.
It wont be long until the streets are illuminated with festive cheer as light switch-on events take place across the region.
We’ve put together a list of Christmas light switch-ons in the Portsmouth area, including in Cosham, Gosport, Fareham, Waterlooville and Lee-on-the-Solent.
The events are a chance for families to welcome in the season and enjoy festive stores and food with each region celebrating in its ow unique way.

2. Cosham Christmas Lights
Cosham will be kicking off the festive season in the city as it holds its Christmas light switch-on on Wednesday, November 18. Carols will be ringing out and Nation Radio's Mark Collins will once again be hosting the event which will feature a special appearance from Father Christmas. 3. Winchester Christmas Lights
Winchester will be turning on the lights on Thursday, November 19. The switch on will take place in The Broadway and be hosted by Heart Radio’s Jonny Meah. There will also be performances from local schools, choirs, performers and community groups. | Song_about_summer - stock.adobe.
4. Southsea Christmas Light Switch On
The Christmas lights switch-on in Palmerston Road, Southsea, will be taking place on Thursday, November 19. There will be live music and entertainment between 5pm and 7pm with appearances from The Kings Theatre's Jack & the Beanstalk production, including Shaun Williamson (Barry from Eastenders) and Jack Edwards.
