Southsea landmark the Solent Wheel to make final spin at Clarence Pier

On Sunday, September 27, the Solent Wheel will perform its last revolution before moving to a new – and as yet undisclosed – home.
Since its installation in 2016 the wheel has carried tens of thousands of local residents and tourists to heights 35 metres above the promenade to enjoy

The 24 carriages on the £750,000 attraction have also been used for private parties and even proposals of marriage.
The vacant position on Clarence Pier’s seafront site will be used for a number of seasonal events for the remainder of 2020 with ‘details to be announced soon’. Discussions are also under way regarding a potential replacement attraction.
There are a number of options available for people to experience a ‘final spin on the wheel’ before it leaves the city for good.

Single-rider tickets are available at a rate of £4 for adults, £3 for children, and a family ticket (2 Adults & 2 Children) is available for £12. A VIP Carriage for up to four people, including a glass of fizz for each person, is available for £25.
Despite the departure of the Solent Wheel, Clarence Pier has said its other attractions will remain open for weekends throughout October as well as
the October Half-Term Holidays and Halloween (weather permitting).
