Plumbase Scores a Bullseye for Community Kettle with £2,000 Charity Darts Tournament
More than 50 players helped raise an incredible £2,000 for Community Kettle after local tradespeople and businesses came together for a charity darts tournament in support of the Cosham community hub.

Organised by Plumbase and hosted at Phoenix Darts Club in Waterlooville, the annual event saw customers, staff, family members and supporters enjoy a day of friendly competition, fundraising and community spirit.
Adding to the occasion was a giant teddy bear mascot, which quickly became a crowd favourite as it posed for photographs throughout the tournament. The bear eventually found a new home with Plumbase employee Jake, after customers bought raffle tickets in the hope his children would win the prize.

On the oche, talented young local player Leo Howard claimed victory to become tournament champion, impressing spectators throughout the day.
The event raised £2,000 for Community Kettle, based on Cosham High Street, which welcomes more than 500 people through its doors every week. The organisation provides activities, support services and social opportunities designed to tackle isolation, improve wellbeing and bring people together.
Nicole, Founder of Community Kettle, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Plumbase, the players, their families and everyone who donated. Raising £2,000 is an amazing achievement and will make a real difference to the people who use our hub every day.

“Community Kettle exists because of the kindness and generosity of our community. Support like this helps us continue providing a welcoming space where people can find friendship, support and a sense of belonging.”
Daz Sumner from Plumbase said:
“The tournament is always a great opportunity to bring our customers and local trades together, but being able to support an organisation like Community Kettle makes it even more special. We were delighted with the turnout, the atmosphere and the amount raised.”
The fundraising success comes as Phoenix Darts Club celebrates securing its future after recently overcoming the threat of closure. The venue will mark the occasion with a special “Not Farewell Party” on 7 November featuring blind pairs, a singles competition and an evening DJ.

Plumbase continues to support Community Kettle throughout the year through its in-store coffee bar and darts area at its Eastern Industrial Centre branch in Portsmouth. The space provides a welcoming environment where plumbers, tradespeople and customers can take a break, enjoy a hot drink and connect with others.
The tournament highlighted the strength of community across Portsmouth, with local businesses, tradespeople and residents coming together to support a hub that has become a lifeline for many local people.
