Fridays, in Southampton Road, Park Gate, has launched parent packs, free kids activity kits to help parents take the stress out of mealtime and keep their kids entertained.

The restaurant chain, which first opened in New York in 1965, launched its click and collect service last year, allowing customers to order off their menu and pick up.

This year, it has launched a range of vegan dishes, such as its vegan burgers and garlic and chilli veg fajitas, to honour those taking part in Veganuary.

It is also hoping to attract customers by selling DIY kits with ingredients and instructions so punters can recreate their favourite dishes, or cocktails, at home.

Aaron Pullinger, Fridays Fareham's restaurant manager, said: ‘With the country in another lockdown we miss seeing our guests but we wanted to find a way to give them that Fridays feeling while our doors are closed.

‘We particularly wanted to offer something to help parents who are once again juggling work and home-schooling while keeping the kids entertained and fed.

‘Our parent packs will help kids get in touch with their creative side and keep them busy while parents get a well-deserved break.

‘Ordering the packs could not be easier and they can be added to the click and collect order free of charge.

‘Our iconic dishes are available on our click and collect menu, including the tasty vegan burger.

‘Fans can also make their favourite meals in the comfort of their own homes with our DIY meal kits. And for those that couldn’t quite face dry January this year, our classic cocktails are available for delivery.’
