Kens Fried Chicken and Speedy Pizza given five-star food hygiene rating six weeks after being admonished by Fareham borough inspectors
A takeaway has seen its food hygiene rating upped from two to five stars after inspectors paid a second visit.
A fried chicken and pizza takeaway that got a rap on the knuckles from food hygiene inspectors has now been given a clean bill of health.
Kens Fried Chicken and Speedy Pizza in West Street, Fareham, was visited by environmental health officers in September.

It was given a rating of two out of five and the inspectors’ report, released by Fareham Borough Council after a Freedom of Information request, revealed that staff had been told they were not cooking chicken for long enough to avoid the possibility of bacteria “multiplying”.
There were concerns raised about the cleanliness of chopping boards and fridges, and dips being kept out of the fridge overnight. Blood was also found on the floor.
The inspection was on September 9. The takeaway requested a follow-up visit, which took place on October 27, and this time the result was a lot more palatable.
After the October visit inspectors gave the takeaway the maximum five stars, with “good” ratings for hygienic food handling, the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, and the management of food safety.
