A coffee shop has ‘unfolded naturally’ since it opened two years ago.

Tides Coffee Shop, located in Lower Quay, Fareham, has recently undergone a phenomenal transformation with a refurbishment and extension. The coffee shop closed on August 11 to undergo the work and since its reopening, on August 31, customers have been blown away.

The extension has meant that there are ten additional seats so that the team can serve more customers at one time.

The owner Jackie Tribbeck decided to open the coffee shop two years ago after noticing that the site had gone up for rent.

Jackie said: “I walked past this building many times walking my dog for 16 – 17 years and completely moaned to myself that there’s nowhere to get a coffee in the area so when it came up for rent, I just decided it might be a good idea to just go for it because I didn’t someone else would and I would probably have lived with the regret of that – so, I decided to take the plunge and it has all unfolded quite naturally and organically really.”

Jackie had no experience of running a coffee shop but she ‘took the plunge’ and quite her longstanding job at the council to turn her dream into a reality - and she has not looked back since.

She added: "It’s working out really well – it got so popular that the tiny little space that we had had to change – so we decided to expand – so we are now able to feed more people and have a little bit more space.
