Lancashire Police originally issued the appeal, as he’s linked to the Prescot area of Merseyside. Portsmouth Police confirmed last summer that Spelman also has links to the city, Fareham, and Hampshire.

The sex offender, who speaks with a Merseyside accent, was originally released from a prison near Weymouth, Dorset, in early July. Lancashire Police said he failed to register an address with the force, which was regarded as a breach of his notification requirements.

Spelman proceeded to travel around the south of England, often living in a tent. Police urged for the public to stay vigilant at campsites and transport hubs in case they saw him. He was pictured at Bournemouth railway station on July 4.

Lancashire Police has recently confirmed that Spelman was arrested by their colleagues in South Wales on January 3. He appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday (January 5), pleading guilty to breaching his sexual offender notification requirements.

“Spelman was remanded in custody to appear for sentence at Swansea Crown Court on January 19,” Lancashire Police added. “Thank you to everyone who shared the appeal, it is very much appreciated.”
