"Labour-intensive" step of M27 junction 10 upgrade work closer to completion as motorway remains closed - in pictures

Work is continuing to progress on the M27 junction 10 major upgrade as teams work round the clock.

Pictures from The News on Tuesday, December 30, shows the work ongoing as tonnes of material is put into the gaps either side of the underpass to enable to them to pave over the surface.

A Hampshire County Council spokesperson said: “The team is carefully backfilling the embankments with around 6,000 tonnes of material and installing drainage features using gravel and sand - this is a labour-intensive task which is undertaken with care to ensure no damage to the underpass and the waterproofing protection.”
