Hambledon cricketer Henry Glanfield makes a stunning return to competitive action against Gosport Borough
The Hambledon all-rounder missed most of the 2019 season after breaking an ankle falling off a kerb.

Hide AdBut he turned in a sparkling display as Hambledon beat Gosport Borough by 92 runs in their opening Southern League Cup Division 2 / 3 group match.
Batting at No 3, he strode to the middle after captain Spencer Le Clerq (37) and George Marshall (33) had put on 68 for the first wicket.
Glanfield was still there at the close, hitting his maiden century - 112 not out - as Hambledon rattled up 279-4 off their 40 overs.

Hide AdIndy Chakrabati hit 30 off 22 balls while wicker-keeper Will Bond struck an undefeated 24 off 16 deliveries.
Jack Richards (2-50) was the most successful Gosport bowler.
Glanfield hadn’t finished yet, and proceeded to bag 4-27 as Borough were restricted to 187-8.

Hide AdChasing a large total, they needed a good start but didn’t get one as Glanfield had opener Simon Creal caught by Chris Pratt for just seven.
Glanfield went on to dismiss top scorer Jacob Harris (43), Michael Rees (0) and Charlie Cleal (9) as Gosport slipped to 138-6.
Borough’s tail wagged slightly with No 7 Gavin King (35 off 33 balls) and captain Greg Kitchin (29) taking them to an eventual 187-8.Hambledon won by 92 runs.
