Portsmouth handed huge boost with return of key duo for Burnley clash

The Blues seek to build on their excellent form with a trip to struggling Burnley

Conor Shaughnessy and Josh Murphy make their long-awaited returns to the Pompey squad at Burnley.

But the duo must be content with places on the bench as Mousinho makes just the one change to the team which beat Millwall.

Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma, who was rested from last weekend’s 2-1 victory, returns at left-back, with Swanson swapping over to right-back.

That sees Terry Devlin dropping to the bench, despite improved form of late, including his spectacular equaliser at Wolves.

The substitutes also include Murphy, who hasn’t featured since August following groin surgery, while Shaughnessy hasn’t been involved since suffering injury against Blackburn in September.

Dropping out of the Blues’ 20-man squad are youngsters Franco Umeh and Eoin Kenny.

Pompey: Schmid, Swanson, Poole, Dia, Meghoma, Pack, Mohamed, Kamara, Segecic, Kavuma-McQueen, Milovanovic.

Subs: Bielica, Shaughnessy, Devlin, Waddingham, Murphy, Shade, Shein, Bailey, Adams.
