Sean Raggett, Michael Jacobs and Callum Johnson were all brought in on permanent deals, while Cameron Pring and Rasmus Nicolaisen were signed on loan.
Meanwhile, another striker remained on their radar, despite no movement in that department either.
In fact, a total of 22 players were linked with a Pompey switch over the summer without completing a transfer to the south coast.
