The 22 players linked with Portsmouth transfers this summer - but failed to arrive

Pompey brought in five new faces during the summer.

Sean Raggett, Michael Jacobs and Callum Johnson were all brought in on permanent deals, while Cameron Pring and Rasmus Nicolaisen were signed on loan.

The Blues were keen to add to that number, with a late move for Millwall’s Ben Thompson falling short as the transfer window loomed.

Meanwhile, another striker remained on their radar, despite no movement in that department either.

Throughout the summer, front men like Niall Ennis, Matty Taylor and Kevin Nisbet were mentioned as potential suitors to compete with John Marquis and Ellis Harrison.

However, as you know none of them made it to Fratton Park.

In fact, a total of 22 players were linked with a Pompey switch over the summer without completing a transfer to the south coast.

We look back on who these players were and where they eventually ended up if the Blues were not an option.
