Victorious Festival is finally back!

The musical extravaganza returned to Southsea Common last night and is now in full swing.

After Madness kicked off the fun on Friday, it was another bumper day of music at Victorious on Day 2 on Saturday.

The Streets, Manic Street Preachers, Rag’N’Bone Man, Craig David and more performed yesterday.

And now the final day is set to continue with a bang with Royal Blood, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Supergrass and more set to perform.

Gates will open at 10am again today.

Guests will need to provide proof of they are fully vaccinated, have natural immunity or a negative lateral flow test.

Dee Kidston and sister in law Kirsty Kidston enjoying their first festival after a difficult 18 months.

Kirsty has been working as a nurse in Lancing, while Dee, from Dunstable, spent three months in hospital from May due to a rare autoimmune condition.

She said: ‘I had had my first vaccine by then, but it was still scary. I feel confident being outside here, inside I feel I need to keep myself more protected’.

‘Do you like us Portsmouth? We like you - shall we go on a date to Nando’s?’: Lottery Winners frontman Thom Rylance keeps the crowd in front of the Common Stage entertained with a self deprecating plug.

Addressing the crowd, he said: ‘They don’t let us out very often. So any festival we play, they are taking a risk. We’ve got a new album coming out in September - it’s going to be a flop.’

The Met Office has published an hour-by-hour forecast for Victorious Festival day one.

Here is what you can expect if you are attending the festival today.

Heavy traffic jams reported as festival-goers attempt to reach campsite near Portsmouth

Motorists are being urged to avoid parts of Portsmouth as thousands of revellers flocking to Victorious have caused gridlock around the city.

Traffic is building up on the Eastern Road as festival-goers seek to arrive to Victorious’ campsite in Farlington.

Congestion has also been reported in parts of Hilsea, along Norway Road, as well as on the slip road from the A27 heading to Farlington.

Portsmouth City Council has now warned people to avoid some highway routes in a bid to try and ease traffic jams.

Portsmouth's biggest taxi firm warns of a lack of drivers as Victorious festival gets underway

Frustrated bosses at Portsmouth largest taxi firm have warned of a lack of drivers – in a blow for thousands of revellers attending the Victorious festival.

Aqua Cars, which is a key transport firm in the city, issued the warning in an open letter to customers last night.

It comes as tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to Portsmouth over the next three days to witness the triumphant return of Victorious.
