Man, 62, left with 'life-threatening' injuries after serious assault in Andover

A MAN is in hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after a serious assault in Hampshire.

The incident happened in River Way, Andover, on Thursday.

Police were called at 9.18pm on July 29 to reports that a 62-year-old man had been assaulted.

He has been taken to hospital and his injuries are described as being life-threatening.

The victim remains in hospital, police have said.

Shane Richard Donovan, 27, of York Court in Andover, has been charged with grievous bodily harm intent.

He was due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates Court this morning.

An 18-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman, all from Andover, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have all been released on police bail.
