Naked man arrested in Leigh Park for exposure after 'behaving suspiciously'
Concerns from the public were raised with the police
A naked man who was seen ‘behaving suspiciously’ in Leigh Park has been arrested.
Reports were raised with police after a male “in a state of undress” was spotted in Middle Park Way on Monday afternoon (October 19). Chief Inspector Matt Moss said concerns were posted on local social media pages.
He said in a social media statement that “a man was reported to have been seen in a state of undress behaving suspiciously in the Leigh Park area”. The officer confirmed that a male has now been detained. He also warned against posting further comments on social media given the ongoing active investigation.
“We have identified and arrested a 59-year-old local man from Havant on suspicion of exposure, and he remains in police custody at this time whilst enquiries in relation to this matter continue,” CI Moss said.
“We have not received any further reports of this nature in the area, and my officers will be following up on this matter today. Please speak to a uniformed officer if you have any concerns and I will update you when I can as to the outcome of the investigation.”
