Pompey are on their travels this weekend as they face Burnley at Turf Moor in the EFL Championship.

Pompey team news

Kusini Yengi hurt his groin when warming up prior to the game against West Brom, and is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

Loan signing Mark O'Mahony won't play any part against Burnley either after returning from international duty with bone bruising, though he's expected to return to training early next week. The 19-year-old has been limited to a 30-minute cameo appearance off the bench having joined from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Deadline day signing Ibane Bowat suffered an injury, and will be out for several months. He ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee as he lined up a shot during a training session. It was described as a ‘freak’ injury by John Mousinho and Bowat has since undergone surgery.

Colby Bishop remains unavailable after undergoing heart surgery in the summer. No time frame was put on the 27-year-old returning, but he has been training at the club's Hilsea training base recently.

Conor Shaughnessy was absent against West Brom and has been rated as doubtful for the weekend. Thankfully Regan Poole and Tom McIntyre have returned recently, and so Mousinho has other options should Shaughnessy miss out.

Out: Yengi, O’Mahony, Bowatt, and Bishop. Doubt: Shaughnessy

Burnley team news

Manuel Benson suffered a calf/achilles injury during the recent game against Blackburn Rovers. He could be out for weeks and potentially even months.

Centre-back Jordan Beyer was forced to undergo a second operation on his meniscus (knee) injury. He's been out of action since December 2023, and might not play until the New Year.

Hannes Delcroix hasn't played since March, and won't come in to consideration. Aaron Ramsey is back in training having suffered a serious knee injury, but won't play any part.

Nathan Redmond underwent surgery in January and is doing some ball work, but is another player that won’t feature. Mike Tresor is another doubt having failed to feature at all this season. He's been training, and has done some individual work, but is working on his fitness.
