Mischief Theatre brings 'Christmas Carol Goes Wrong' to Kings Theatre
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong comes to Portsmouth
Audiences are about to find out what happens when the world’s most hapless amateur dramatic society takes on Dickens.

The writers behind The Play That Goes Wrong are preparing to take crowds on a tour of the inner workings of rehearsals for the first time - what could go wrong?
Cornley Drama Society presents ‘Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’ - a brand-new festive comedy from Mischief Theatre which will take to the Kings Theatre stage between November 24 and 28 as part of its UK tour.

Written by original Mischief members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the show features a set gone wrong, a quarrelsome cast who have fallen out, and a full-blown feud over who gets to play Scrooge.
Henry Lewis, co-writer, said: “One big change, and this is a first for us, is that we’re taking you into rehearsal. Audiences will get to see the Cornley players rehearsing and interacting before we go into the show itself and see everything fall apart.
“There are jokes we haven’t been able to do before that require detailed set-up. By showing the rehearsal, we can lay the groundwork.”
Tickets start from £25, with both matinee and evening performances lined up.
Jonathan continued: “There’s a sense of home they have with one another... It’s an odd sort of chosen family. They might bicker and fall over a bunch, but they would never consider quitting – they love every second of it.”
