So getting your restaurant or pub featured in the guide is a sign that you are serving up some of the best food around.

Started by French tyre company Michelin more than one hundred years ago, the guide is published annually.

As well as the famed Michelin stars – which are used to denote the best restaurants around the world – the guide also dishes out other awards such as The Plate.

55 of the best Hampshire restaurants to visit in 2020

For the 2020 edition of the Michelin Guide there are 22 restaurants in Hampshire featured.

36 on the Quay

This restaurant in 47 South Street, The Quay, Emsworth, is featured in the Michelin Guide for 2020.

It has been awarded The Plate by the guide.

36 on the Quay serves modern dishes display a wealth of different flavours and textures and have the occasional international leaning.

Michelin Guide says that it costs between £28 and £59.

Another Emsworth restaurant is featured in the Michelin Guide for 2020.

Fat Olives can be found in 30 South Street, Emsworth and has been awarded The Plate by the guide.

It serves classic British dishes have a modern edge and rely on small local suppliers.

Michelin Guide says that it costs between £24 and £45.

The Thomas Lord

This pub in High Street, West Meon is featured in the Michelin Guide for 2020.
