Pompey played out a goalless draw at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Pompey fans on social media have reacted to their goalless draw against Burnley.

John Mousinho’s men were frustratingly held by the struggling Clarets, who had new boss Fabio Celestini in the hot seat for the first time since his appointment on Wednesday.

The Blues did have the ball in the back of the net just 13 minutes in when Marlon Pack struck an effort on the edge of the box into an empty.

However, referee Ruebyn Ricardo felt Ryan Kavuma-McQueen fouled Burnley keeper Gregoire Coudert in the build up and subsequently chalked off the goal.

The Clarets, whose year-long run without a win on home soil, did have chances of their own, with Kyle Walker, Jaydon Banel and Largie Ramazani all have opportunities for the hosts.

The point keeps Pompey 11th in the standings and have now lost just one of their previous nine league matches.

Here’s the thoughts of the Fratton faithful on social media.

@harrybrown1994: With the exception of Nico, defensively solid yet again

@sm63_63: Solid point, attack was poor today tho

@BourbonBert: What an awful game. Both sides poor...but jeeeeeesus wept how bad was that ref?? Some of those decisions (for both teams) were comical

@PFCOllie_: That ref should be banned from the EFL

@TomColes95: Point gained. Burnley though were absolutely shocking, fans must be livid.

@DanLewis1999: One of the worst games of football I’ve watched…fair play to everyone involved.

@Palmrick_pfc: Would like to see a bit more urgency going forward don't think we score enough still but can never grumble at a CS and a point away from home in my opinion.

@furniss_alex: Take that. Pompey of old lose that.

@OfficialAJ84: Diabolical performance that. We’re so slow on the ball. No urgency or desire to try and win it.

@adamb_pfc: Pathetic going forward.

@jimbo_pfc: Can’t wait for the meltdown about how poor it was. you take a clean sheet and a point away from home in the championship any day of the week

@PompeyPatter: A point and a clean sheet away from home is never a bad thing, but it’s one that you felt we could have nicked. Lacked rhythm in the attack. Ebou made a huge difference once again. Good run extended though. We go again Tuesday night!!

@TsunamiQuiff: Another strong defensive performance, probably didn't deserve a point but that's football. Only 1 loss in 9 now, finally where we should be as a safe mid-table side.
