New Healthy Pet Store set to open in Waterlooville to replace former M&Co store

Applicant and founder of Healthy Pet Store, Deborah Burrows has applied for planning permission to Havant Borough Council to open at 17 to 21 Wellington Way. Proposals include alterations to the shop entrance with a change from a front swing door to sliding doors, installing a platform lift and adjusting the steps. Five new air conditioning units are proposed to be installed at the rear of the building.

Hide AdHealthy Pet Store founded by Ms Burrows in 2014 is a retailer of raw pet food in the UK. Its store in Totton, Southampton has a successful High Street business as well as offering a nation-wide online delivery service.
The proposal is part of the vacant shop scheme with eight small and independent businesses receiving a share of the £140,00 grant will open their doors in Waterlooville as part of a plan to regenerate the town centre.

Hide AdHavant Borough Council made the grants available so they could be used to make visual and physical improvements to the frontline operations of the business which were selected in the hope it would increase visitors to the town centre.
Clothes retailer M&Co collapsed in Spring 2023 with the closure of 170 stores and the loss of almost 2,000 jobs. The Renfrewshire-based company, which used to be known as Mackays, was one of Scotland’s best known clothing chains.
The council will make a decision on application reference APP/24/00709 by December 3.
